What Ships Are Built For

I had a great conversation with my brother about how he feels about his move to Texas. I asked if he was scared and he responded with this quote “A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” It really struck a chord with me. I think many are afraid to follow their heart based on what society might think or what might be the easiest choice at the time. I find myself guilty of this sometimes. Going against the grain of what’s comfortable is a challenge but the reward of fulfillment is always worth it. While I’m sad they’re moving so far away, I’m so proud of him for following his heart. Ever since our conversation this image has been stuck in my head so I had to get it out. I think I’ll frame it and deliver it when I visit their new home in Texas
